So far in my sketch a year challenge I have drawn Honesty flower seedheads which were dried and transparent from over the winter. Then in Spring I drew some Honesty flowers which have now gone full circle and are once again seedheads. However the difference is that the seedheads are still green and purple and plump.
Day 168, of my 2016 sketch a day challenge
Ooops apologies to my website viewers and subscribers, I managed to post yesterdays sketch on twitter and facebook etc. but for some reason failed to upload to the website as I was busy getting ready to open my studio to Suffolk Open studio visitors this weekend. I only realized as I went to post today’s sketch. Spent the morning at RSPB Minsmere volunteering with Bittern monitoring so on the way home I called into Southwold for a quick sketch of the beach huts at the bottom of Gun hill.
Day 167, of my 2016 sketch a day challenge
Having spent a brilliant morning in Southwold watching the start to the Aviva woman’s cycling tour start I decided to head back to sketch the boats again. This boat is sitting in the grass on the Blackshore in Southwold.
After a few flower sketches I hope you like this one, always keen to hear what you think too.
Day 166, of my 2016 sketch a day challenge
Another day of flower sketching a chance to capture the Hawthorn (Crataegus monogyna) before Summer kicks in.
Day 165, of my 2016 sketch a day challenge
Oxeye daisy (Leucanthemum vulgare) often found on disturbed ground, scrub and grass meadows. So no surprise to find them growing well on the rough ground that makes up Kessingland beach cliffs. Easily identifiable by the large white flowers with yellow centers that stand tall on a single stem.
