My penultimate drawing took me to Easton Farm Park this morning where I had arranged to sketch a Suffolk being groomed. Whitton Poppy is owned by Her Majesty the Queen and is an impressive 18 hands tall and full of power. I thank Lois for letting me draw her as she groomed Poppy.

“Looking after the Wherries” YANA day 97 of 100
Moored up in the docks on Wroxham broad I spent a wonderful morning with Wherry Yacht Charter. I must thank Dean for telling me so much about what he was doing. In the drawing Dean and his lovely dog Rufus are inspecting wood removed from the side with a view to repair or replace. Now the summer is over the job of repairing and maintaining this last remaining fleet of Wherries in preparation for next year begins.
“Lincoln Reds” YANA day 96 of 100
A deep cherry red full bodied mum and calf resting in the pasture grass in Norfolk on the farm with Izzi Rainey. Lincoln reds were selectively bred from the indigenous draught cattle of Lincolnshire by crossing with the Durham type Shorthorn to produce a dual purpose breed. Here Izzi keeps them with her Highlands as a beef herd.
“The Farm Secretary” YANA 95 of 100
Had a great chat to Carol Catchpole who is a farm secretary. Farm secretaries look after the business side of a farm or estate carrying out administrative paperwork, preparing accounts, keeping records of stock and crops, costings, ordering of equipment and supplies. Carol not only looks after her own family farm but also several farms performing a sensitive and confidential role.
