Back in July I sketch the Sea Pea as it flowered, http://www.kate-batchelor.co.uk/uncategorized/day-189-2016-sketch-day-challenge/ . Today it is the same plant but this time not with flowers but with pods, the pods are in various stages some are brown and are popping but these are green and have what look like petit pois. These ones were from Pakefield but similar plants can be found all down the coastline.
Sitting in the shingle waiting to go fishing is the small boat Sea Swallow. This is one of the many boats on the beach at Pakefield that still occasionally fishes, most are covered with tarpaulins.
All along the beach at Kessingland are eroded remnant of bricks. These are as a result of the coastal erosion as buildings have succumbed to the North Sea. This brick is a beautiful terracotta colour.
There has been no sign of mum and these 3 hoglets are fending for themselves. Having spent most of this morning ringing round all the rescue centers we have decided that these 3 need a home where they can be cared for and have a chance for release later. So all 3 are now in a box with some hay water and a supply of meal worms. The 2 larger Hoglets have now devoured several meal worms each but the smaller Hoglet perhaps is not ready and needs mums milk, it is the small one which has been most vocal.
