After a walk from the water tower down to and along the Blackshore you reach the beach. This view is looking north along the beach towards Southwold town with it’s lighthouse and in the distance the pier.

The River Hundreds which reaches the sea at Kessingland needs a helping hand to flow out to sea with the aid of the sluice and pumps as it lies below sea level. This is the view from the sluice looking inland along the river.

European Horse Chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum) or as we knew it from our childhood ‘conker tree’. Yet more signs of Autumn with conkers on the ground, these ones in Wrentham.
