A stroll along the beach from Kessingland to Pakefield. A little chilly with a stiff southerly, not a particularly high tide so no erosion by the waves but the strong wind is causing large mounds of sand to be eroded and deposited at the bottom of the cliffs. At high tide there is a slight …

Found whilst walking back from Pakefield to Kessingland stranded and unfortunately dead was this Lesser Pipefish (Syngnathus rostellatus). About 10cm in size an olive green back with pale silvery underside. Pipe fish are not a type of Seahorse but do belong to the taxonomic family.
On a day when the wind was coming off the sea I ventured to Pakefield beach to find sea haar.
Walking from kessingland to Pakefield for coffee at the Jolly Sailors. A beautiful day and almost certainly the warmest of the year so far and a high tide that only just allowed passage along a thin strip of beach a few feet wide. On the way the bushes along the cliff were full of Linnets …
