So much farmland borders our estuaries and rivers, mostly this is grazing land for cattle as it is here. Today I am on the edge of the River Blyth in Reydon with a stream of Swifts that scream past. It feels as if they are beginning to move south as they start their long migration.

Here is a nosy bullock who was just asking to be drawn. One of a small herd at Rushmere, Suffolk on the meadow by the River Hundreds.
“Shocking up” YANA day 8
From sketches drawn the other night with Tobias and Emma Watkin. Having cut the straw it is now being shocked up to dry.
“Benacre sheep” YANA day 7
This flock of sheep are really enjoying feeding in this flower meadow. Already they have eaten their way through all the wild flowers and are now onto the grass. Soon only the docks and plantains will remain!
