On the banks of the River Yare on a cold breezy spring afternoon looking across the river toward the derelict Buckenham Ferry drainage mill. Overhead Swifts were flying against a cloudy sky.
Day 134, of my 2016 sketch a day challenge
Found whilst walking back from Pakefield to Kessingland stranded and unfortunately dead was this Lesser Pipefish (Syngnathus rostellatus). About 10cm in size an olive green back with pale silvery underside. Pipe fish are not a type of Seahorse but do belong to the taxonomic family.
